🏰 Prague in the Middle Ages

Prague became an important centre during the rule of the dukes of the House of Přemysl. Trading settlements in Malá Strana and the Rotunda of St. Wenceslaus date back to the 10th century. By the 13th century, Prague had become a fortified city, and it reached its golden age under Charles IV, when it served as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire.
