Academic & Financial Basics
1. Can I participate in Erasmus+ if I study outside the EU? Erasmus+ is available only to students from Programme Countries (EU + associated countries: North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey). Your home university must also have a bilateral agreement with UCT Prague. Please check this with your Erasmus+ coordinator.
2. Do I pay any tuition fees? No. As an Erasmus+ or other exchange student, your tuition fees are waived.
Language & Requirements
3. What is the language of instruction? All courses listed in the Erasmus+ catalogues are taught in English.
4. Do I need English language certification? Yes. You must provide proof of English level B2 (CEFR) as part of your application.
5. I’m not sure if my English certificate will be accepted. Contact the Department of International Relations for clarification.
Courses & Credits
6. How many credits do I need? Exchange students must complete min. 20 ECTS per semester.
7. Which courses can I choose?
- Bachelor’s students: courses from the undergraduate catalogue
- Master’s students: courses from both undergraduate + graduate catalogues
💡 Note: Mixing both levels may create timetable overlaps → may require Learning Agreement changes.
8. Can Bachelor’s students take Master’s courses? Only in exceptional cases and with prior approval from the Department of International Relations. Master’s courses require specific background knowledge (see course “Entry Requirements”).
9. Can I take courses not listed in the Course Catalogue? Only exceptionally and with prior approval. For Czech-taught courses, contact the Department of International Relations in advance.
