Non-EU exchange trainees planning to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days must apply for a long-term visa for study purposes at the Czech Embassy or Consulate in their country.

⚠️ Important: Non-EU citizens with residency in another EU state still need a long-term visa if their stay exceeds 90 days.

Who needs to apply?
  • Third-Country Nationals (not EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland).
  • Non-EU students already studying in the EU: may apply in the Czech Republic or at the regional visa centre in Dresden. Consult the Department of International Relations first.
💡 Note: Citizens of the UK are also considered visa students.
