UCT Prague offers limited accommodation options in the Volha and Sázava dormitories, located near Chodov metro station in southern Prague.

  • Mainly 2-room apartments (2–3 beds per room) + kitchen + bathroom/toilet
  • Limited single rooms with bathroom
  • Shared laundry; fitness centre with gym and table tennis

  • Mainly 2-room apartments (2–3 beds per room) + bathroom/toilet
  • Shared kitchen on each floor
  • Laundry rooms on 1st, 4th, 7th, and 11th floors
⚠️ Note: Kitchens are not equipped with utensils; students must bring their own.
💰 Accommodation price: 3,780 – 6,400 CZK/month.
How to Get to the Dormitories from the Airport
  • Buy a ticket for 40 CZK (if you do not have a long-term pass)
  • Take bus 59 (formerly 119) from Terminal 1 or 2 to Nádraží Veleslavín metro station
  • Take Metro A (green) to Muzeum, change to Metro C (red) to Chodov
  • Take bus 177 to Volha bus stop (3 min walk to dorms)

⏱ Total travel time: ~40–50 minutes

How to Apply
  1. After supervisor confirmation, check your email from the admission officer.
  2. Inform IRO (incoming@vscht.cz) about your preference and dates.
  3. Submit Application to erasmus.accom@vscht.cz (copy incoming@vscht.cz).
  4. Wait for official confirmation from the dormitory office.

⚠️ Apply as early as possible due to limited capacity (especially Sept–Oct).

Arrival Procedure
  • Visit dormitory reception with your passport.
  • Receive: room key, bed linen, and documents to sign.
  • Weekend arrivals: You must register with the Student Accommodation office on Monday.
  • Pay administrative fee 400 CZK and refundable deposit 7,000 CZK (cash or card).
Bed Linen:
Provided (pillow, duvet, sheets). Replace weekly at the bedding storeroom or manager’s office for hygiene.
Wi-Fi Access:
"vscht": university credentials. "volha"/"sazava": unlimited access after providing phone number at check-in.
🍽 Canteens & Dining
Volha Residence Canteen: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Campus Dejvická: Menza Studentský dům ("Red canteen"), Technická Menza ("Blue canteen").
Discounts: Use your UCT Student Card for reduced prices.
Off-Campus Living:
  • Private flats available closer to university. Beware of fake offers; never pay before seeing the flat and signing a contract.
  • Registration: Non-EU must register at Foreign Police within 3 days (EU within 30 days). Bring your contract.
  • Students in dorms do not need to register separately; dorms handle it.
