1 Nomination by Your Home Institution

Before you can apply, your home university must nominate you for an exchange at UCT Prague. The nomination includes your name, date of birth, email, and planned period of stay. Nominations for 2024/2025 must be sent through the official nomination form. Your home university should contact the Department of International Relations at incoming@vscht.cz.

Nomination Deadlines:
• Winter Semester / Full Year: 1 April – 31 May (Visa students: 24 May)
• Summer Semester: 1 September – 31 October (Visa students: 24 October)
2 Application Procedure

After nomination, you’ll receive an email from the UCT International Office with detailed instructions for submitting your application. Be sure to follow the deadlines and prepare all documents carefully. For more details, download the official Exchange Study Guideline provided by UCT Prague.

Prepare Your Application Documents

All documents must be in English and officially confirmed. Send all files together in one email to incoming@vscht.cz.

1) Student Application Form 📋 Online
Used for registration in the university's internal system. The form is online; you will receive the link after we receive your official nomination.
⚠️ Accuracy is key: Your first and last name must be identical to your passport/ID card. Date of birth format: dd/mm/yyyy.
2) Learning Agreement for Studies (LA)

A formal agreement between you, your home university, and UCT Prague outlining planned courses and credit transfer.

Use the Course Catalogue. Ensure codes, names, semesters, and credits are perfectly accurate. Only signed versions are accepted (student + home university first).

Important: If the LA contains errors, it will be sent back. Failure to return a corrected copy by the deadline may result in a cancelled nomination.

3) Proof of English Language Skills

UCT Prague requires that you have a good command of English to study successfully here, and you will need to provide us with proof of your English language skills.

Non-Native English Speakers: The minimum requirement is level B2 and above, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Recognised Certificates that UCT Prague accept are:

Cambridge ESOL: minimum B2 First (FCE)
Cambridge IGCSE: minimum score B2 (CEFR)
TOEFL iBT: minimum score 80
IELTS: minimum overall band score 6.0
PTE Academics: minimum score 60
Duolingo English Test: minimum score 110

Validity: Except for the Cambridge confirmation, we only accept certificates for up to 3 years.

Other Acceptable Formats (if you do not have any internationally-recognised certificate):

Native English Speakers: Students whose mother tongue is English or who fully study in English at their home university are exempted from this obligation.

4) Medical Assessment Form
Requested due to direct contact with chemicals in laboratories. Must be signed by a doctor.

Exception: Only for students of the School of Business.

5) Transcript of Records

Official documentation (in English) of your academic achievements, including all passed semesters and grades.

6) Motivational Letter & CV

Showcasing your skills and motivation to help assess your suitability for the exchange program.

7) Passport / ID Scan

To confirm personal data. Non-EU students in Europe must also send their residence card.

LA, Confirmation of Language Knowledge, and Transcript of Records must be officially confirmed by respective representatives.

4After Submitting Your Application

Once your documents are reviewed, you’ll receive an acceptance confirmation via email. If required by your home institution, UCT Prague can provide an official Acceptance Letter.

5 Visa & Accommodation

Visa: Students from Non-EU countries will receive a Czech Letter of Acceptance for the visa process. Apply as early as possible; processing can take up to 60 days. See the Visa Information page.
